Defcon International Music School ("Defcon", "we", "us", or "our") is a non-profit organization based in Mutungo Zone 2, Nakawa Division, Kampala, Uganda. We provide free music education, mentorship, and performance opportunities to underprivileged youth. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you visit our website, enroll in our programs, or otherwise interact with us.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of information:

  • Contact information you provide through our website forms or WhatsApp, such as your full name, email address, phone number, and the content of any message you send us.
  • Enrollment information needed to register a student for our programs, such as the student's name, age, guardian contact details, and instrument or course of interest.
  • Usage information collected automatically when you browse our site, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, and pages visited, typically gathered through standard web server logs and hosting analytics.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to enquiries submitted through our Contact Us form or WhatsApp;

3. Children's Privacy

Many of the young people we serve are minors. Where a student is under 18 years of age, we only collect personal information about that student with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, and only as needed to provide our music education and mentorship programs. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through this website without such guardian involvement.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • With trusted service providers who help us operate our website, communications, or programs, and who are required to protect your information;
  • With partners, sponsors, or donors, but only in aggregated or anonymized form unless you have given us explicit permission to share identifiable details (for example, a testimonial or success story);
  • When required by law, regulation, or a valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Defcon, our students, staff, or the public.
